According to City Public Works staff, construction work on Lighthouse Avenue will begin in early April and continue until May. The work will consist of asphalt milling/grinding, placing of new asphalt, micro-surfacing (asphalt slurry and aggregate) and striping. Although first indications were that all of this work
would be done at night, City staff changed their minds such that some of the less noisy work will be done at night such as the micro-surfacing and striping, but the milling and paving operations will be done during the day.
Lighthouse Avenue is one of two arterial roads that serve the New Monterey neighborhood and all of Pacific Grove. Needless to say, construction on Lighthouse Avenue will have significant impacts to everyone living on and using Lighthouse Avenue, but the work has to be done.
